France’s own Francois Xavier Boudant and the 14-year-old gelding Brazyl du Mezel (Haloubet de Gorze x Apache d’Adriers) took a home win in Saturday’s CSI4* 1.45m Prix de la Metropole Rouen Normandie in Rouen.
Only fractions ahead of the second-placed João Victor Castro Aguiar Gomes De Lima (BRA) and Obama de La Liniere (Marius Claudius x Golden Hawk), the French duo took the top honours in 37.05, while the Brazilian pair had to settle for the runner-up spot when the clock stopped on 37.11.
Julien Epaillard (FRA), who has taken over the ride on Philippe Rozier’s Le Coultre de Muze (Presley Boy x Vigo d’Arsouilles), placed third with a time of 37.88, followed by Nicolas Layec (FRA) with Georgio Louvo Z (George x Quintus d’09) in fourth in 38.42 and Philippe Rozier (FRA) aboard Prestigio Ls La Silla (Presley Boy x Cash) in fifth with a time of 40.19.
