Germany wins CSIO3* Nations Cup in Vilamoura

Germany won Tuesday's CSIO3* Nations Cup in Vilamoura, Portugal after finishing on a total score of eight penalties. France followed in second place on 13 penalties, while Italy, Great Britain and Ireland tied in third on 16 penalties. 

In-form Richard Vogel and Floyo VDL (Baltic VDL x Contender) delivered the only double clear for the German team. Jens Baackmann on Aglaia J (Arpeggio x Lancino de L) recorded four faults in each round, while Guido Klatte Jr. and Qinghai (Quidam de Revel x Cordalme) came back clear in round two after having four faults in round one. David Will had the discharge score in the first round after finishing on 24 penalties with C Vier 2 (Cardento 933 x Concorde), but jumped clear in round two to put Germany on a total of eight penalties. 

The French team consisted of Kevin Staut on Tolede de Mescam Harcour (Mylord Carthago*HN x Kouglof II), Gregory Cottard on Bibici (Norman Pre Noir x Nelfo du Mesnil), Edward Levy on Uno de Cerisy (Open Up Semilly x Siego) and Mathieu Billot on Quel Filou 13 (Quidam's Rubin x Cascavelle).
