Piergiorgio Bucci (ITA) is on a winning streak at the Vilamoura Champions Tour, and took his third consecutive Grand Prix victory at the Portuguese venue when topping Sunday's CSI4* 1.50m Grand Prix with the 12-year-old gelding Cochello (Casall x Cartani 4). The pair also won the CSI4* Grand Prix in Vilamoura two weeks ago, while last week the victory came with Carpe Diem J&F Champblanc (Casall x Concerto II) in the CSI3* Grand Prix.
With a time of 40.10 in the jump-off, Bucci had by far the fastest clear round of the ten horse-and-rider combinations competing for the win. Francois Mathy Jr (BEL) followed in second place with Uno de La Roque (Numero Uno x Kannan) after stopping the clock at 45.45 seconds. Third place went to Nicole Pavitt (GBR) on Madagascar Dwerse Hagen (Va-Vite x Diabeau), in a time of 45.80 seconds. With two time faults in the jump-off, Luisa Himmelreich (GER) finished fourth with Clenur (Carinue x Fernando), while fifth went to Mel Thijssen (NED) on Cartolana 2 (Catapult 7 x Lando) with one down in the jump-off and a time of 38.37 seconds.
