Gudrun Patteet (BEL) and the 11-year-old mare Sea Coast Kashmira Z (Kashmir van't Schuttershof x Libero H) won Friday’s feature class at the Sunshine Tour – the CSI3* 1.50m world ranking competition Geolastic Trophy. Geolastic is a company that specializes in the construction of equestrian arena surfaces and that built the new Ratina Z ring at the Sunshine Tour, and which maintains all of the artificial surfaces at Dehesa Montenmedio.

“It seems like my mare really likes this arena!” Patteet said after her win in the stunning David Broome-ring, where she stopped the clock at 34.88 seconds in the jump-off.

It’s not the first time that the pair has won similar classes in this ring; last year they topped both the Grand Prix class sponsored by Horseware and also the Grand Prix sponsored by the Diputación de Cádiz. “My mare jumped really well both in the first round and the jump-off. I’m very happy with her. The track was big enough but comfortable for the horses and rode well,” Patteet detailed about Friday's class.

There were 14 clears in the first round of this 1.50m Big Tour class, where the track was set by Louis Konickx (NED). Seven of the fourteen managed to repeat their clean sheet in the jump-off. Second place went to Kim Emmen (NED) with Warriors Glory (Warrior x Caretino Glory) with a time of 37.57 seconds, while Richard Vogel (GER) and Floyo VDL (Baltic VDL x Contender) followed in third after crossing the finish line in 37.79 seconds.

Friday's second world ranking class was the CSI3* 1.45m Medium Tour, that was won by world no. one Steve Guerdat (SUI) riding Ulysse des Forets (Col Canto x Le Tot de Semilly) followed by Matthew Sampson (GBR) with Curraghgraigue Obos Flight (Obos Quality 004 x Errigal Flight). Third place went to Jérôme Guery (BEL) and Eldorado WPZ (Eldorado VD Zeshoek x Calvados).
