Hans-Dieter Dreher (GER) and the 9-year-old mare Berlinda (Berlin x Gento) topped Sunday's CSI3* Grand Prix of Donaueschingen.

Only six out of the 46 riders in the Grand Prix managed to produce clear rounds over the 1.60m track set by Olaf Petersen Jr., to move on to the jump-off. As many as eleven riders decided to retire, and seventeen finished on a score between 8-20 penalties.

Against the clock, Dreher was the fastest to cross the finish line in 40.79 seconds – securing himself a  brand new Mercedes A-Class worth about 28,000 Euro to drive home in. "She can do everything, she keeps the overview and makes me look good," smiled Dreher after the victory when speaking about Berlinda that took her second big Grand Prix win today, the pair also went to the top in the CSI5* Grand Prix Longines of Ascona at the end of July.

With a time of 41.27 seconds followed Dreher's compatriot Laura Klaphake (GER) on Catch Me If You Can (Catoki x Acordplus), while the last double clear of the class came from Julia Kayser-Houtzager (AUT) who finished third on Sterrehof's Cayetano Z (Caretano Z x Cor de la Bruyere). Gert-Jan Bruggink (NED) ended fourth with one rail down in the jump-off, and Marcus Ehning (GER) fifth – also he on four faults.
