Harrie Smolders and Devino vd Weretherbach Z take the title in Saturday’s CSI5* 1.55m presented by AB Yachts in Lido di Camaiore

Harrie Smolders (NED) and the 10-year-old gelding Devino vd Weretherbach Z (De Flor 111 Z x Calvin Z) won Saturday’s CSI5* 1.55m presented by AB Yachts at the Longines Versilia Horse Show, presented by Giorgio Armani, in Lido di Camaiore, Italy.

At the end of the competition over two rounds with a jump-off, four pairs cleared their way into the final round. With a time of 30.46 in the jump-off, Smolders took the win ahead of Brazil’s Joao Victor Castro Aguiar Gomes de Lima and Obama de la Liniere (Marius Claudius x Golden Hawk) in second, while Kim Emmen (NED) on Hellix du Seigneur (Curby du Seigneur) followed in third.

Roberto Previtali and Quirinus 27 (Quality Time TN x Balou du Rouet) opted not to take part in the jump-off, placing fourth ahead of Abdulrahman Alrajhi (KSA) with Heartbeat W (Baloubet du Rouet x Heartbreaker) in fifth.

The second five-star competition of the day, the CSI5* 1.50m presented by Giorgio Armani, went to Sweden’s Henrik von Eckermann and the 10-year-old gelding Steely Dan (Hardrock Z x Cardento) ahead of Kevin Jochems (NED) on Baloe HP (Balou du Rouet x Clearway) in second and Lorenzo de Luca (ITA) aboard Baskin Smooth Diamond (Diarado x Clover Hill) in third.
