Qatar's Faleh Al Ajamai won the CSI4* 160m Grand Prix Class of the International QNB Doha Tour Showjumping Championship in Doha last night after fierce competition from KSA rider Abdullah Sharbatly as well as his own compatriot Ali Yousef Al Rumaihi.

Riding his new partner Armstrong van de Kapel (Quasimodo Z x Farn), Al Ajami completed two clear rounds and went into the jump-off against Al Sharbatly who gave up after one down and retired on Little Pezi (Lord Pezi x Aldatus). Al Rumaihi showed real guts and speed riding Gunder (Thunder van de Zuuthoeve x Randel Z) but had one fence down and went out after the second round with an impressive 59.91, more than six seconds faster than his two rivals.

Al Ajami's triumph did not come as a surprise as he came second to Luciana Diniz in last month's CSI5* Emir Sword Showjumping Festival in Doha, then aboard Come Soon

The QNB Doha Tour will now go into its final leg at Katara in Doha on 24-26 March 2016.
