Helena Lundbäck (SWE) and Antina V’t Merelsnest Z (Arko III x Lord Z) was the only pair to deliver a double clear over Saturday's 1.50m derby course at CSI3* Falsterbo Horse Show. Two other riders made it to the jump-off – Andreas Schou (DEN) with Quadrosson Ask (Quadros 3 x Carentan) and Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann (GER) with Quim 2 (Quiwi Dream x Levisto) – but both of them collected four faults over the shortened course and had to settle for second and third place.
“I’m really surprised,” Lundbäck commented to World of Showjumping after the win. “My gut feeling told me that Antina one day could become a great derby horse, but after walking the course I was really insecure and I was really nervous before entering the ring. She is very green and this was the first time for her jumping the open water and many of the derby fences and she was fantastic!”
Joel Torstenson (SWE) and Felix (Feliciano 823 x Imperator) took the fourth place and was followed by Victoria Gulliksen (NOR) with Ballenteskin Watch This (Iroko x Harlequin du Carel) in fifth – both with four faults in the first round.
