Helena Persson took a popular home win in the CSI3* Gina Tricot Grand Prix in Borås, Sweden on Sunday. Riding the 16-year-old Bonzai H (Baloubet du Rouet x Caletto II), Persson produced one of two triple clear rounds to win the 1.50/1.55 class with a margin of almost three seconds in the jump-off.
As last to go in the jump-off, that counted three riders, Persson took advantage of her position to push her compatriot Marlene Lindblad on Take It Easy (Quite Easy 958 x Irco Marco) down to second place. "I did not see Marlene's round, but heard that she rode quite long ways and that it was possible to go faster. To be honest I did not think too much, I just went for it and then it was enough," said a happy Persson after.
Third place went to Germany's Sören von Rönne on Christian 25 (Cartnai x Lord Liberty) who had one down in the jump-off.
