Kristen Vanderveen (USA) and the 10-year-old gelding Starbucks 27 (Stakkato x Colman) won Thursday’s CSI5* 1.50m – a competition counting for the Longines Rankings Group C – at the Al Shaqab Equestrian Centre in Doha, Qatar, as the Qatar Equestrian Federation Cup 2026 kicked off.
With a time of 71.31 seconds, Vanderveen bested a field of fourteen, taking the win ahead of Gerfried Puck (AUT) on Equitron Naxcel V (Balou du Rouet x Landetto) in second and Nasouh Kayali (JOR) aboard Kamacho P.S. (Emir R x Numero Uno) in third in 77.24.
“Just since this tour, I got the ride on Starbucks, and I love this horse,” Vanderveen said in a press release from Doha Equestrian Tour. “I have really, really high hopes for him. He learns every class, like we saw from last week and how much he’s continued to improve.”
