The CSI5* 1.50m AKITA Drilling Cup kicked off sport on the International Ring Saturday of the CSI5* Spruce Meadows 'North American' 2025. The winning round format competition had 33 horse-and-rider combinations challenge the first track and the 10 top results from that round qualified for the winning round.

Five of the riders returning for the winning round carried the Irish flag, a dominant force this 2025 Summer Tournament Season. It was another victory for Jordan Coyle (IRL), riding For Gold (For Fashion x Heraldik) in the AKITA Drilling Cup. The pair delivered the fastest clear ride in the winning round with a time of 51.79 seconds to take the win ahead of Charlie Jones (GBR) and Capitale 6 (San Patrignano Cassini x For Pleasure) in second and Eugenio Garza Perez (MEX) aboard Chalouries PS (Chacco-Blue x Baloubet du Rouet) in third.
