João Victor Castro Aguiar Gomes De Lima (BRA) and the 14-year-old Cashpaid J&F (Casall x Chicago Z) took the top honours in Saturday's biggest class at the traditional Internationales Festhallen Reitturnier Frankfurt, the CSI4* 1.50m Avalon Premium Cars Kronberg Champions Cup.
A total of 45 horse-and-rider combinations participated in the class, which served as the second qualifier for the Grand Prix, and which counted for the Longines Rankings Group C. Only four of them moved on to the jump-off, where João Victor Castro Aguiar Gomes De Lima was the quickest with a time of 33.17 seconds – preventing a home win for the hosts as the next three riders were all Germans. Marco Kutscher (GER) and Aventador S (Armitage x Charming Boy) finished second after clocking a time of 33.87 seconds, while Angelique Böckmann (GER) and Jardessa (Berlin x Kashmir van Schuttershof) completed the podium in third in 34.92 seconds. With four penalties in the jump-off, Tom Schewe (GER) and Lester (Eldorado vd Zeshoek x Andiamo Z) had to settle for fourth, followed by Hannes Ahlmann (GER) and Madness (Kannan x Emerald) who placed fifth after picking up a time penalty in round one.
Later in the evening, Felix Hassmann (GER) made it a home win the CSI4* 1.45m Prize of DREAME.de counting for the Longines Rankings Group C – riding Carrie Brad Shaw MWZ (Chaman x San Patrignano Cassini) to a time of 32.03 seconds in the winning round. Sophie Hinners (GER) and Erevan de Flusel (Mylord Carthago x Quidam de Revel) finished second after clocking in on 32.20, followed by João Victor Castro Aguiar Gomes De Lima (BRA) on Obama de la Liniere (Marius Claudius x Golden Hawk) in third in 32.21.
