John Whitaker was the king of the weekend in Hong Kong. After winning the Gucci Gold Cup yesterday, the living legend went to the top again in Sunday’s five star Longines Grand Prix – like the day before on Argento (Arko III x Gasper). Thirteen riders went clear in the first round of the 1.60 competition, but Whitaker was simply in a league of his own and the rest of the field of riders could do nothing about the British rider.

An amazing second round by Whitaker gave him the win. Simon Delestre took an early lead on Ryan des Hayettes (Hugo Gesmeray x Ryon d'Anzex), but eventually had to settle for third as he was pushed down by Whitaker and later also by last year’s winner Henrik von Eckerman on Gotha FRH (Goldfever x Prestige Pilot). Martin Fuchs ended fourth on PSG Future (Cashandcarry x Lorentin I) and Scott Brash fifth on Hello M’Lady (Indoctro x Baloubet du Rouet).

Earlier in the day Roger Yves Bost won the 1.45 Massimo Dutti Trophy aboard Nikyta d’Elle (Richebourg x Papillon Rouge).
