Friday's main class at the CSI4* event Hubside Jumping in Grimaud, France, was a 1.50m competition with a jump-off, counting for the Longines Ranking. With some of the world’s very best horse-and-rider combinations present at the French riviera, it was Julien Epaillard (FRA) on Virtuose Champeix (Rubins des Bruyeres x Avec Espoir) that took home the win with a time of 36.50 seconds in the jump-off.

"Going fast is like riding a bike; you don't forget how to do it," the winner smiled. "In the jump-off, the turn from the second fence to the third was really decisive. I was lucky to have a good turn there, and I was the only one to do seven strides on the last line – everyone else did eight," Epaillard continued. "I will be staying at Hubside Jumping for the next four weeks. Not all horses have experienced the show break the same way, and I will be using the weeks here to get mine going again."

Kevin Staut (FRA) on Vegas de la Folie (Castronom Z *de Hus x Ephebe For Ever *La Silla) followed in second with a time of 37.87, while Marcus Ehning (GER) on Calanda 42 (Calido I x Chasseur I) placed third after stopping the clock on 38.02. Francois Mathy Jr. (BEL) on Uno de la Roque (Numero Uno x Kannan) took the fourth place and the fifth spot went to Filippo Marco Bologni (ITA) on Diplomat (Kasmir Van Schuttershof x Darco).
