France's Kevin Staut and Elky van het Indihof HDC (Toulon x Thunder van de Zuuthoeve) won Wednesday's biggest class at the CSI5* Al Shaqab. The 1.50 class against the clock saw ten of the 38 riders going clear, with Staut and the 12-year-old mare being the fastest as they stopped the clock on 55.85 seconds.
Runner-up was Ireland's Bertram Allen on Molly Malone V (Kannan x Kavalier), who finished a second behind Staut. Then followed Belgium's Gregory Wathelet in third with Oh d'Eole (Kannan x Papillon Rouge), that were over two seconds behind the winning couple.
Earlier in the day, Bertram Allen won the 1.45 two-phase class on his relatively new ride Quarto Mail (Cardento x Alligator Fontaine). The Irish rider was followed by Qatar's Bassem Hassan Mohammed and Germany's Hansi Dreher in second and third.
