Marcus Westergren (SWE) and the 12-year-old Astree de Burgo (Kannan x Socrate de Chivre) won Thursday's CSI4* 1.50m Grand Prix qualifier at the Andalucia Sunshine Tour in Vejer de la Frontera, Spain.
A total of 45 horse-and-rider combinations had lined up for the class, jumped over two phases on a track designed by Uliano Vezzani. With a time of 25.18 seconds, Westergren was by far the fastest followed by Tomas Galilea (ARG) on Vertigo WAF (Van Helsing x Contendro) in runner-up position 1.66 seconds behind the winning time. Third place went to Dominique Hendrickx (BEL) with Floris TN (Quality Time TN x Vancouver) in 26.97 seconds, while Antonio Matos Almeida (POR) on Iniesta P (Air Jordan) finished fourth and Luiz Felipe de Azevedo (BRA) on Hoselinde (Campbell VDL x Zeus) fifth.
