Austria’s Max Kühner and the 12-year-old mare Greece 5 (Mylord Carthago x Quinar Z) won Thursday’s CSI5* 1.50m – a competition counting for the Longines Rankings Group B– at Al Shaqab in Doha, Qatar, where the fourth and final week of the H.H. The Father Amir's Prix – as part of the Doha Equestrian Tour 2026 – got underway.
With a time of 65.91, Kühner took the win ahead of the current world number two, Great Britain’s Scott Brash and Hello Jefferson (Cooper vd Heffinck x Irco Mena) in second in 66.56.
“I’m very pleased with Greece today," Kühner said in a press release from H.H. The Father Amir's Prix. "She’s a very fast horse, and the course was good for us. I’m happy with the result. And Al Shaqab is a fantastic venue for us as riders, it’s good for experienced horses in the top sport, and it’s also a great place for younger horses.”
Portugal’s Duarte Seabra and Fernhill Leonardo (I’M Special de Muze x Voltaire) completed the podium in third when stopping the clock on 67.98, followed by Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) on Esteban de Hus (Cornet Obolensky x Baloubet du Rouet) and Marlon Modolo Zanotelli (BRA) aboard Charly Heart (Cornet Obolensky x Heart-Ache BS) in fourth and fifth with times of 68.70 and 68.89 respectively.
