The CSI5*/2* 'Continental', presented by Rolex launches two weeks of top international showjumping at Spruce Meadows. In the North American Ring, Thursday's feature competition was the CSI5* Friends of the Meadows 1.55m.
Competitors took on the one round track against the clock designed by FEI course designer Anthony D'Ambrosio (USA), where no one could catch Egypt's Nayel Nassar and Coronado (San Patrignano Cassini x Acord II) who posted the fastest clear round in a time of 63.30s. Only 0.05s behind followed USA's Kent Farrington on Landon (Comilfo Plus Z x Quadrillo), while the third place went to Canada's own Kara Chad on Quidamo F (Quality 9 x Chameur) with a time of 64.18s.
In the CSI5* Friends of the Meadows 1.50m, Great Britain's Matthew Sampson took the top honours with Fabrice DN (VDL Emilion x Baloubet Du Rouet) when stopping the clock at 67.46s. With a time of 68.58s, USA's Nicholas Dello Joio and Cornet's Cambridge (Balou du Reventon x Cambridge) finished second, while Canada's Vanessa Mannix and Kitting des Hausseurs (Winningmoood x Thunder vd Zuuthoeve) took third after crossing the finish line in 68.91s.
