Ireland’s Niamh McEvoy and the 12-year-old gelding Olympic ‘GL’ ‘FVD’ (Galisco van Paemel x Bengale) won Sunday’s CSI4* 1.55m KAR Sport Horses Grand Prix in Vejer de la Frontera, Spain, as the fifth week of competition concluded at the Andalucía Sunshine Tour 2026.
Picking up three time penalties in the jump-off of two, McEvoy took the win ahead of her compatriot Billy Twomey on Ace of Hearts Z (Action-Breaker x Labor’s VDL), who opted to retire, taking the second place.
Carrying two time penalties from the first round, Mario Wilson Fernandes (POR) and Cool Grey (Cornet Obolensky x Carthago) placed third, followed by Ciaran Nallon (IRL) on Casalla Blue PS (Casallco x Chacco-Blue) in fourth and Guy Williams (GBR) aboard BH Gringos Legacy (Tullibards Bennys Legacy x Colourfield) in fifth – each with four penalties.
