Saturday's biggest class at CSI5* Longines Ascona, the 1.55m Premio AXIM SA Project Management Lugano, went to Olivier Perreau (FRA) and GL Events Venizia d'Aiguilly (Diamant de Semilly x Quick Star).
Perreau was one of twelve riders moving on to the second round of the competition, where he beat Denis Lynch (IRL) on his new ride GC Chopin's Bushi (Contendro II x Nairobi) by 0.19 seconds. Roberto Turchetto (ITA) and Baron (Colman x Numero Uno) finished third, 2.45 seconds behind the winning time. Jos Verloy (BEL) and Varoune (Verdi x Cardalme) were fourth, while Nadja Peter Steiner (SUI) and Celeste 26 (Casall x Landgraf I) ended fifth.
