Brazil's Rodrigo Pessoa and the 10-year-old mare Dhalida (Diamant de Semilly x Calvaro Z) went to the top in Friday's CSI4* 1.50m Grand Prix qualifier at the Longines Tops International Arena in Valkenswaard, the Netherlands. With a time of 62.15 seconds, Pessoa had a margin of 2.28 seconds down to runner-up Lorenzo de Luca (ITA) on the veteran Don Vito (Quaprice Bois Margot x Jus de Pomme).
“It was very good. She is a very fast mare," Pessoa said in a press release from the Longines Tops International Arena. “I saw the round of Lorenzo. I thought it was possible to win so I really tried everything and luckily we came out on top.”
The third place went to Kendra Claricia Brinkop (GER) and Ma Belle (Ugano Sitte x Bayard d'Elle) with a time of 65.23 seconds, followed by Khaled Almobty (KSA) and Spacecake (Stakkatol x Kannan) in fourth in 65.52. Clocking a time of 65.64 seconds, Kevin Jochems (NED) and La Costa (Gitano V Berkenbroeck x Calvino Z) rounded off the top five.
