In the private grounds of Windsor Castle, the 2026-edition of Royal Windsor Horse Show has featured five-star jumping in the Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Castle Arena during the weekend.
On Friday, Matthew Sampson (GBR) and Nouvelle v.h. Veldhof (Cooper vd Heffinck x Calido I) won the CSI5* 1.45m The Pearl Stakes ahead of Abdullah Alsharbatly (KSA) riding Valentino (Diamantino x Careful) in second and Victor Bettendorf (LUX) riding Qwando van de Rispen (Matisse de Mariposa x Phin Phin) in third.
Friday’s CSI5* 1.55m The Defender Stakes went to Jack Whitaker (GBR) riding Skyfall OS (Diamant de Semilly x Heartbreaker), who took the top honours ahead of Gregory Wathelet (BEL) on Double Jeu d’Honvault (Kannan x Cook du Midour) in second place, while Henrik von Eckermann (SWE) aboard Calizi (Cellestial x Stakkatol) completed the top three.
On Saturday, Matthew Sampson (GBR) took another big win, topping the CSI5* 1.50m The Sheikha Fatima Bint Hazza Al Nahyan Challenge Stakes with Latte Macchiato (Pacino x Boherdeal Clover). Steve Guerdat (SUI) and Hadj de Bliniere (Carpe Diem J F Champblanc x Allegreto) took the runner-up spot, followed by Daniel Coyle (IRL) with Daydream (Phin Phin x Voltaire) in third.
Saturday’s CSI5* 1.55m Kingdom of Bahrain Stakes for The King’s Cup went to the current world number four Ben Maher (GBR) riding Ginger-Blue (Plot Blue x Royal Bravour). The current world number three, the 2025 European Champion Richard Vogel (GER) placed second with For Space (For Pleasure x Comte), followed by Martin Fuchs (SUI) on Falcon du Toultia Z (For Pleasure x HH Copin van de Broy) in third.
