This weekend, Sentower Park in Opglabbeek, Belgium, is hosting a four-star event and on Friday it was Sanne Thijssen (NED) that took the win in the feature class – the 1.50m Domus Farm Prize counting for the Longines Ranking, which also served as a qualifier for Sunday's Grand Prix.
Eighteen of the 79 participants cleared their way into the deciding jump-off, where Thijssen was in a league of her own with Con Quidam RB (Quinar x Cardino) – taking home the win with a time of 34.50 seconds, which was nearly four seconds faster than her closest competitor.
Matthew Sampson (GBR) and Connecticut (Conthargos x Centauer Z) had to settle for the runner-up position with a time of 38.02, while Emma Stoker (GBR) and Kontador VDM (Eldorado vd Zeshoek x For Pleasure) placed third after crossing the finish line in 38.51. Laura Baaring Kjaergaard (DEN) on First Lady G (Whitaker x Lord Z) took the fourth place, while Bart Bles (NED) on Gin D (Clinton x Skippy II) ended fifth.
Thijssen has had a good start to her weekend in Opglabbeek; she also ended second in Thursday's CSI4* 1.45m Grand Prix qualifier counting for the Longines Ranking with Hi There (Nabab du Reve x Numero Uno). The winner of this class, presented by Stephex Horse Trucks, was Wilm Vermeir (BEL) with Joyride (Toulon x Pachat II).
