The win in Saturday's CSI5* 1.60m Grand Prix – counting for the Longines Ranking Group AA – at the H.H. The Amir´s Sword International Equestrian Festival 2024 at Al Shaqab in Doha, Qatar, went to Brazil's Santiago Lambre and Chacco Blue II (Chacco-Blue x Cincaba Rouge).
Four of the 25 horse-and-rider-combinations in the class moved on to the jump-off, where Lambre delivered the only clear – taking the win ahead of Abdullah Alsharbatly (KSA) and Alamo (Ukato x Equador) with a fence down in 29.97 seconds. Rikke Belinda Barker (DEN) and Tabalou PS (Taloubet Z x Balou du Rouet) placed third with four faults in the jump-off in a time of 35.66, while Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) and Nikolaj de Music (Kannan x Nabab de Reve) finished fourth with a score of eight faults. Rashid Towaim Ali A Marri (QAT) and Concordess NRW (Congress 4 x Acobat 3) completed the top five after picking up two time faults in round one.
The second CSI5* class of the day, a 1.50m counting for the Longines Ranking Group D, with 14 participants in it, saw Gerfried Puck (AUT) and Equitron Ornaat V (Ut Majeur de Brecey x Landetto) take the win ahead of Abdullah Alsharbatly (KSA) and Dancing Wolf O.L (Mylord Carthago x Contender) in second and Nadja Peter Steiner (SUI) aboard Espoir Blanc Cristal (Vigo Cece x Conterno Grande) in third.
