The WBFSH Studbooks Jumping Global Champions Trophy at the Longines Tops International Arena in Valkenswaard, the Netherlands, concluded on Sunday with the finals for five-, six- and seven-year-old horses.
The final for 7-year-old horses – jumped over a 1.40m course – went to the Oldenburg studbook, with Roy van Beek and Charleston - H (Comme Il Faut x Zandor), Ruben Arroyave and Diarona Ps (Diaron Old x Charity) and Naomi Himmelreich on Flying Kiss (Kannan x Cassini II) keeping the team total on four penalties, followed by Irish Sport Horse in second and the Danish Warmblood in third.
Selle Français won the final for 6-year-old horses – jumped over a 1.35m course – with Arthur Le Vot and Isis de B'Neville (By Cera d'Ick x Idem de B'Neville), Valentin Pacaud and Irreelle de Talma (By Cera d'Ick x Quaprice Bois Margot) and Reynald Angot on Iliade de Beaufour (Untouchable x Cassini I) recording a total of eight penalties in a combined time of 219.69. Also finishing on a total of eight but with a slower combined time, KWPN had to settle for the second place, followed by Zangersheide in third.
Danish Warmblood won the final for 5-year-old horses, which was jumped over a course set at 1.25m. Daniel Hald Cassoe and Unik V (Syvhoejegaards Unforgetable S DWB x Cavall ASK), Maria Hjorth Frederiksen and Harmilly D (Harley x Diamant de Semilly) and Christian Jansen on Clarima DWB (Clarimo x Carmargue) recorded a team total of four penalties, taking the win ahead of CDE/Ancades in second with eight penalties and KWPN in third with a total of twelve.
The final for 8-year-old horses – jumped over a course set at 1.45m – took place on Saturday and it was the team representing Selle Français that took the top honours; Sara Brionne and Grand Duc du Paradiso (Vagabond de La Pomme x Toulon), Corentin Derouet and Gwenndu de Kergane (Capoutchi de Kergane x Grand Chef Bleus) and Arthur Le Vot on Giulio du Ter (Cornet Obolensky x Rosire). While the top three studbooks all finished on a team total of four penalties, the French were the quickest, followed by KWPN in second and Zangersheide in third.
Selle Français also topped the final for stallions, with Dylan Levallois and Funky Music Semilly (Diamant de Semilly x Apache d'Adriers), Stephane Dufour and Diego de Blondel (Vigo Cece x Dollar Dela Pierre) and Francois Xavier Boudant on GFR Falco de Hus (Baloubet du Rouet x Vivaldi du Seigneur) flying the French flag.
