The action at Al Shaqab in Doha, Qatar – host to the H.H. The Amir’s Sword 2026 this week – continued on Wednesday.
Switzerland’s Nadja Peter Steiner and the 13-year-old mare Nice van’T Zorgvliet (Emerald x Heartbreaker) topped Wednesday’s CSI5* 1.50m, a competition counting for the Longines Rankings Group B. With a time of 66.42 seconds, they bested a field of 36 horse-and-rider combinations, taking the win ahead of Kristen Vanderveen (USA) and Bull Run’s Jireh (Uriko x Colman) in second in 66.92.
“I’m very proud of my mare, she is such a fighter every time she goes in the ring," Peter Steiner said in a press release from the H.H. The Amir’s Sword 2026. "It was a tough course, and I’m proud of her. She gave everything.”
Marlon Modolo Zanotelli (BRA) and Dorette OLD (Dollar du Murier x Fighting Alpha 3) placed third when crossing the beam in a time of 67.67 seconds, followed by Ines Joly (FRA) on Crack d’Aiguilly Z (Comme Il Faut 5 x Nabab de Reve) in fourth in 71.90 and Jane Annett (GBR) aboard Jywan (Etoulon x Karandasj) in fifth in 72.55.
