The Split Rock Jumping Tour (SRJT) Sonoma International CSI2* opened Wednesday at the Sonoma Horse Park in Petaluma, CA. The event will continue through Sunday when it will culminate with the $100,000 CSI2* Grand Prix presented by Horseflight.

At the Welcome Reception hosted by Stagnaro Tack, Derek Braun announced that on behalf of all the exhibitors at Sonoma, the Split Rock Jumping Tour is contributing $10,000 from the show's entry fees to the fund helping with medical expenses for Irish Olympic veteran Kevin Babington who suffered a spinal cord injury in a fall last week at the Hampton Classic.

"Kevin Babington is one of the nicest guys on our horse show circuit and he has been a big supporter of the Split Rock Jumping Tour since day one," Braun said. "He and Shorapur won the first Split Rock Grand Prix ever held and I encourage everyone to support him and his family at this time when he needs our help."

Wednesday's schedule featured six classes including the $2,500 1.40m speed class. Claiming top honors in the one-round 1.40m class was Kaitlin Campbell on Ilan. She finished the 12-jump course designed by Alan Wade fault-free in 67.81 seconds. Placing second was Nick Dello Joio who finished clean in 69.46 seconds on Catemaco LS. Third place went to Tracey Wade who was clean in 69.89 seconds on Escarlata LS.

The Hyaluronex FEI jog was also held on Wednesday prior to Thursday's first FEI class. There were 79 horses presented at the Hyaluronex FEI jog in anticipation of the week's FEI classes which will be on Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
