The first five-star event of 2018 takes place in Basel, Switzerland this weekend and true to tradition many of the world's best riders kick off their season at the event.
On the list of riders are of course a strong string of the Swiss: Steve Guerdat, Martin Fuchs, Romain Duguet, Janika Sprunger and Pius Schwizer being some of them. Other big names include world no. two Harrie Smolders (NED), world no. four Kevin Staut (FRA) and world no. seven Maikel van der Vleuten (NED), as well as stars such as Rolf-Göran Bengtsson (SWE), Luciana Diniz (POR), Marcus Ehning (GER), Scott Brash (GBR) and Edwina Tops-Alexander (AUS).
