This week, Desert International Horse Park, in Thermal, California, hosts its first of two weeks of CSI5* competitions with Desert Holiday 1 taking place between 3-7 December 2025. The Desert Holiday 1 event is also the 6thth leg of this year's Major League Show Jumping, and will in addition to the CSI5* classes feature CSI2* competitions. The highlight of the week will be the $750,000 Coachella Cup CSI5* 1.60m Grand Prix, jumped on Saturday 6th December.
On the entry list are many of America's best riders, including McLain Ward, Laura Kraut, Karl Cook, Lillie Keenan and Jessica Springsteen, who will get competition from the likes of 2025 European Champion Richard Vogel (GER), FEI U25 leading rider Nina Mallevaey (FRA), as well as big names such as Nicola Philippaerts (BEL), Conor Swail (IRL), Daniel Bluman (ISR), Cian O'Connor (IRL) and Gregory Wathelet (BEL).
