Kent Farrington couldn't stop smiling at the press conference following his win in the LGCT Grand Prix in Hamburg, and said this about his round and his horse: "This was my first time here in Hamburg and it was really a great way to start. I like the show, it gives you a bit of Aachen feeling with the big grass arena and the great audience. Voyeur is naturally very fast and this kind of field really suits him and I can use his strength in the canter and his big stride."
Kent added: "Winning is always great but we are here to do the sport and I think we all have a fantastic life being able to do what we love every day. We are really lucky! To win is an extra bonus."
Philipp Weishaupt rode Chico, who was the biggest horse of the day: "With Chico it is much easier in this big ring than in a small sand arena. He jumped really well today and I don't think he thouched a single pole in the ring and I'm so happy with him. Sometimes when you end second you think shit, I could have gone a bit faster there or turn a bit shorter there, but today I'm just happy!"
Chico is bred and owned by Madeleine Winter-Schulze, who is one of the biggest horse owners in Germany: "Madeleine came to the warm-up straight after the jump-off and she tried to speak, but she couldn't as she was crying. She was so proud of her horse and of course it is something special when you have followed a horse through his whole life - from his first young horse class and all the way to the LGCT Grand Prix in Hamburg."
For Rolf-Göran Bengtsson and Casall Ask it is kind of a home arena with both of them living in Holstein: "There are many Holstein breeders coming here and it is important for a breeding stallion to do well here - that can give them a few more mares in the end. Casall Ask has a fantastic record here in Hamburg. He is just an amazing horse and he keeps going and he really likes the place here."
Rolf is concentrating on the LGCT events with Casall Ask this year: "We decided in the beginning of the year that we should select Casall Ask's shows and I'm going to do some LGCT events without doing too much with him."
