The current world number four, Great Britain’s Ben Maher and the 15-year-old mare Ginger-Blue (Plot Blue x Royal Bravour) won Thursday’s CSIO5* 1.50m Prize Suttero in St. Gallen, Switzerland.

Run under Table A against the clock over obstacles up to 1.50m, the competition counted towards the Longines Rankings Group D and served as a qualifier for Sunday’s Longines Grand Prix of Switzerland.

Aboard Ginger-Blue, Maher set the fastest time of 68.70 seconds, finishing ahead of the USA's Aaron Vale with Gray's Inn (Cannavaro x Oscar), who placed second with a time of 68.98, while Ireland's David Simpson with Pjotr van de Kruishoeve (Bamako de Muze x Taran de La Pomme) took third in 69.32 seconds.

Romain Duguet (SUI) and Hunger Games du Champ du Bois (Elvis Ter Putte x Mytens) finished fourth, followed by Jack Whitaker (GBR) and Skyfall OS (Diamant de Semilly x Heartbreaker) in fifth.
