Ireland’s Billy Twomey and Ace of Hearts Z (Action-Breaker x Labor’s VDL Indorado) won Sunday’s CSIO4* 1.60m Lotto Grand Prix, under the patronage of Wirtualna Polska in Sopot, Poland.
The thirteen best horse-and-rider combinations from the 50 at start continued to the decisive second round, where a clear in 41.62 seconds secured Twomey and Ace of Hearts Z the victory.
Roberto Previtali (ITA) and Quirinus 27 (Quality Time TN x Balou du Rouet) took the runner-up spot with a time of 42.63 seconds, while Ricardo Benzinho Karle Da Costa (POR) and Kirocco (VDL Zirocco Blue x Cardento 933) completed the podium in third in 43.05.
Marco Antonio Peixoto Ferreira Filho (COL) and Everest v’t Hof V Eversem Z (Epleaser van’T Heike x Concreto) finished fourth with a double clear and a time of 44.35 seconds from round two, while a single time penalty from the initial round saw Jodie Hall McAteer (GBR) and La Gupardie (Van Gogh x Carrera VDL) finish in fifth place.
