Just two weeks after topping the CSI5* Longines Global Champions Tour of Hamburg, Daniel Deusser and Jasmien vd Bisschop (Larino x Chin Chin) took the win in Friday's CSIO5* Longines Grand Prix of Sopot.
Thirteen of the fifty pairs in the 1.60m Grand Prix moved on to the second round against the clock, where Deusser and the 10-year-old mare were the fastest – stopping the clock at 42.87 seconds. Kristaps Neretnieks (LAT) and Moon Ray (Cornet Obolensky x Contender), winners of Thursday's Grand Prix qualifier, continued their good form to end second with a time of 44.03. Third place went to Kevin Jochems (NED) and Cristello (Numero Uno x Voltaire) in a time of 45.02 seconds, while Jens van Grunsveen (NED) finished fourth with Cika (breeding unknown) and Peter Moloney (IRL) fifth with Ornellaia (For Pleasure x Calato).
"Of course, it's always a great feeling to win one Grand Prix and even better to win two in a row with the same horse," Deusser said after his win. "I've had high expectations for that horse, I have had her for six months now and she is very careful and has very good intentions in the ring. Still on that level, she is a bit young and green like we say. With her heart and her character, to win two Grand Prix classes in a row of course makes me very proud."
