Gilles Thomas (BEL) has had a successful weekend in Falsterbo; after taking the top honours with the Belgian team in Friday's CSIO5* Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ of Sweden, the 24-year-old went on to win Saturday's 1.50m Grand Prix qualifier presented by Equestrian Stockholm.
55 horse-and rider-combinations participated in the 1.50m class against the clock, and 17 of them cleared the course – so it took a fast round to finish in the top five.
Aboard Feromas van Beek Z (Fantomas de Muze x Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve), Gilles Thomas stopped the clock on 62.20 seconds – which was 0.73 seconds faster than Andreas Schou (DEN) and Granate (Baltic VDL x Indoctro), that ended as runners-up.
Marc Dilasser (FRA) and Chamann HAS (Mylord Carthago*HN x Socrate de Chivre) crossed the finish line in 63.02 seconds, to take the third place. Fourth place went to Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) with Crack Balou (Balou du Reventon x Chacco-Blue), and fifth to Evelina Tovek (SWE) with Cortina 212 (Contendro I x Waechter) who was the best of the home riders.
