The British team – consisting of Joseph Clayton with Gentlemen vh Veldhof (Quite Easy I x Calido I), Alex Thompson with Cathalina S (Catoki x Sandro), Karl Robins with Equine America G Camille HBF (VDL Zirocco Blue x San Patrignano Cassini) and Matthew Sampson with Geneve R (Eldorado vd Zeeshoek x Berlin) – took a convincing win in the CSIO3* 1.45m Nations Cup in Vejer de la Frontera, Spain, on Friday. The British team ended the two rounds with only two penalties, followed by Brazil in second place on four faults while Switzerland and Sweden tied in third on nine penalties.

As many as 20 teams participated in the Nations Cup and the eight best from the first round moved on to the second. The time allowed played a big part, with many riders ending up with time faults. However, five riders managed to deliver a double clear: Karl Robins with Equine America G Camille HBF for the winning team, Brazil's Felipe Amaral with Androide 3K (VDL Zirocco Blue x Indoctro), Switzerland's Edouard Schmitz with Quno (Quo Vados I x Cashandcarry), Sweden's Wilma Hellström with Cicci BJN (Ci Ci Senjor Ask x Tornesch) and Ireland's Michael Pender with HHS Calais (Cavalier Royale x Obos Quality 004).
