For a second year in a row, Luxembourg won the Nations Cup at the CSIO3-W event in Celje. A great team effort from riders Victor Bettendorf on Sorbier Blanc (Jericho Pierville x Voltaire), Charlotte Bettendorf on Queltis (Helios de la Cour II x Bonhomme II), Christian Weier on Global (Nabab de Reve x For Pleasure) and Noemie Goergen on Smint (Stakkato x Silvio I) left the team on a zero penalty score after the first round – with only four penalties added after the second round, which was more than good enough for the win without their last rider Charlotte Bettendorf even having to enter the ring for round two. Italy and Turkey finished second with a twelve penalty score.
The CSIO3*-W Grand Prix was won by Austria’s Roland Englbrecht on Mevisto’s Poorboy (Conterno Grande x Poorboy). Czech rider Ondrej Zvara finished as runner-up on Carmen Arcus (Cordobes I x Polydor), but was almost a second behind Englbrecht’s time. Third place went to Luxembourg’s Charlotte Bettendorf on Queltis, who again was in top form after a first clear round in the Nations Cup.
It was a good weekend for Luxembourg at the event, Christian Weier also won Thursday’s 1.45 Gold Tour, and Charlotte Bettendorf Sunday’s 1.45 Silver Tour Final.
