The definite entries for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France, have been announced by the FEI.
In jumping, a total of 35 nations will line out with 20 of those sending teams while individuals from a further 15 countries will take part; in total 75 horse-and-rider-combinations will be competing. Like in Tokyo in 2021, a three-per-team format applies to the 2024 Olympic Games.
The 20 teams include the following nations: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Great Britain, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Japan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mexico, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, United Arab Emirates and USA. Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Portugal, Syria, Thailand and Venezuela all have individual riders competing.
Equestrian sports have been assigned the Château de Versailles as a venue, which no doubt will provide the most stunning backdrop for the horses and riders.
At the delayed Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games three years ago, Sweden won team gold in jumping while Great Britain’s Ben Maher and Explosion claimed the individual title. Sweden will be in Paris to defend their title, as will Ben Maher – although not with Explosion W.
