After a light colic on Friday night, Penelope Leprevost’s Flora de Mariposa did not show up at Saturday’s warm-up session in Rio. Yesterday, Leprevost announced on her official Facebook page that the mare was monitored closely and that a decision as to whether or not Flora de Mariposa would compete in today’s first Olympic qualifier was to be expected this morning.
However, things were already looking a lot better last night and Leprevost posted the following update on her official Facebook page:
“Flora makes us tremble... but all the lights seem to be green tonight! The latest veterinary examinations are reassuring, and Flora even seems to be in great shape (…) Of course we remain very vigilant, but the difficult episode seems to be behind us!”
Hence, it looks like Penelope Leprevost and Flora de Mariposa will be able to compete today and that France will be fully fitted with a team of four.
