Unfortunately, the Mexican team will not be participating in Friday’s Olympic jumping team final in Versailles as Carlos Hank Guerreiro’s Porthos Maestro WH Z (Picasso Z x Ogano Sitte) has been withdrawn due to veterinary reasons.
Ahead of the team competition, the Mexicans were already down to three horse-and-rider combinations, and without the possibility to make a pre-competition change or substitution in accordance with the FEI Regulations for Equestrian Events at the Olympic Games – as Andres Azcarraga’s Contendros 2 failed to pass the first horse inspection on Wednesday, with the reserves Federico Fernandez and Romeo being called in on the team.
The team final – which begins at 2 PM – will now be a battle between nine teams as no replacements are done before the start. Germany, USA, Great Britain, Belgium, Netherlands, Ireland, France, Sweden and Israel will be competing.
