A last-minute change on the Belgian team at the European Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden: Olivier Philppaerts is out, and Jerome Guery in. Guery will compete his 2016 Olympic partner Grand Cru van de Rozenberg.

Philippaerts was maximum unlucky during today's jumping warm-up session at Ullevi Stadium, when his horse H&M Legend of Love stopped on the open water-jump and unseated her rider who then tried to hold on to her. Philippaerts left the ring injured, and a check at the hospital showed that he had dislocated his shoulder.

"The medical team helped me right away, but it does not feel good. This evening I fly back to Belgium, and tomorrow I will go to the hospital. Further examinations will then reveal exactly what's going on, and how to do it later. This is a huge disappointment. H&M Legend of Love and myself were ready. We came here with high expectations, but this falls changes everything," comments Philippaerts.

The WoSJ-team wishes Olivier a speedy recovery, and hope to see him back in the saddle soon.
