On Friday evening, Bas Moerings (NED) and the 13-year-old old stallion Ipsthar (Denzel van’t Meulenhof x Farmer) won the CSI5* 1.55m VDL Groep Prize at the 2026-edition of The Dutch Masters in ‘s-Hertogenbosch (NED).
“I’m incredibly proud of him,” Moerings said in a press release from The Dutch Masters. “Ipsthar really deserved this victory. I’ve learned everything with him, and he has had to put up with a lot from me. But he never holds my mistakes against me and only keeps getting better. Everything is starting to fall into place, and today it all came together.”
With a time of 38.91 in the jump-off of thirteen, Moerings took the win ahead of Petronella Andersson (SWE) and Odina van Klapscheut (I Am Moerhoeve’s Star x Landor S) in second in 41.43, while Harrie Smolders (NED) on Monaco (Cassini II x Contender) placed third when crossing the finish line in 42.11. Thibeau Spits (BEL) and Impress-K van’t Kattenheye Z (Indoktro K van’t Kattenheye x Vagabond de La Pomme) finished fourth in 42.46, while a fence down in 37.16 left Kevin Staut (FRA) aboard Vida Loca Z (Vigo d’Arsouilles x Cornet Obolensky) to fifth.
