The prize money of the Rolex Grand Prix at CHIO Aachen – this year running from June 24th to July 3rd – has been increased from 1 million to 1.5 million Euros. “Our aim is to present the spectators with top sport – the best athletes in the world with the best horses in the world,” said Michael Mronz, Managing Director of the Aachener Reitturnier GmbH. “Being able to offer the riders attractive prize money is also one of the priorities, which is why we are delighted that we have been able to increase the endowment from one million to one and a half million Euros,” Mronz stated.

The most important jumping competition of the World Equestrian Festival, the Rolex Grand Prix, is being staged on Sunday, July 3rd, 2022. The competition has a very long tradition, it was staged for the first time in 1927. “We are extremely committed to this historical competition,” commented Birgit Rosenberg, Member of the Board of the organisers, the Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein e.V. (ALRV). “The athletes tell us that the atmosphere riding here in front of 40,000 spectators and being celebrated by them is incomparable,” Rosenberg explained.

The most recent winner was Daniel Deußer from Germany in 2021 with Killer Queen, who up until this very day speaks of a “once in a lifetime moment”. The Rolex Grand Prix at the CHIO Aachen is part of the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping, which unites the four Major shows, the Spruce Meadows ‘Masters’ (Canada), The Dutch Masters (The Netherlands), CHI Geneva (Switzerland) and the CHIO Aachen.

The overall endowment of the CHIO Aachen 2022 totals 3.9 million Euros, and more than 350,000 visitors attend the event each year.
