After a long and successful career, the curtains closed for Eric Lamaze’s Fine Lady 5 (Forsyth FRH x Drosselklang II) at CHI Geneva on Friday night – with a special farewell ceremony at the same venue where the now 18-year-old mare won the Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final in 2016 and placed third in the Rolex Grand Prix in 2015.
With Lamaze in the saddle, Fine Lady 5 has had a career full of highlights. The two jumped to individual bronze at the Olympic Games in Rio in 2016, and have several big wins to look back at – from Aachen, Antwerp, Barcelona, La Baule, Mexico, Spruce Meadows, Toronto, Valkenswaard and Wellington. Before Fine Lady 5 joined Lamaze, she was competed successfully by Germany’s Holger Wulschner.
In this photo special, we look back at Friday’s ceremony in Geneva as we wish Fine Lady 5 a happy retirement.
