The Swiss crowds had to wait a long time for the first clear in Thursday evening’s 1.55m Trophée de Genève. Karen Polle (JPN), starting as no. six, did a beautiful round on With Wings (Larino x L.Ronald), but ended up with one time fault. It took all the way down to no. 20 before there was a clean result, and it came from the World Champions Simone Blum (GER) and DSP Alice (Askari x Landrebell) that broke the spell. After Blum, several clears followed and in the end ten horse-and-rider combinations – out of the 49 pairs in the class – solved the task.

Going in as no. three in the jump-off, Daniel Deusser (GER) and Calisto Blue (Chacco Blue x Con Air) delivered the first clear and it was a speedy one in 37.31 seconds. The next clear was delivered by Henrik von Eckermann (SWE) with Toveks Mary Lou (Montendro x Portland L) and he went into second with his time of 39.17, but was soon overtaken by Simon Delestre (FRA) and the fighter Hermes Ryan (Hugo Gesmeray x Ryon d’Anzex) that crossed the finish line in 38.29 seconds.

Delestre was however overtaken by Pieter Devos (BEL) with Espoir (Surcouf de Revel x Laudanum xx), that stopped the clock at 37.80 seconds to secure the runner-up position.

Peder Fredricson (SWE) and his European Champion H&M All In (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Andiamo Z) delivered the fastest round in the jump-off, but with four faults he had to settle for the fifth place.

Earlier in the day Pius Schwizer (SUI) and Martin Fuchs (SUI) made the home crowed ecstatic by taking the top two positions in the 1.45m Prix des Vins de Genève. Schwizer won the class riding Balou Rubin R (Balou du Rouet x Couleur-Rubin), while Fuchs rode Cristo (Cristo x Stakkato) to the runner-up position. Nicolas Deseuzes (FRA) took the third place with Quilane de Lezeaux (Grenat de Grez x Page de Paulstra), followed by Pedro Veniss (BRA) with Anaya Ste Hermelle (Andiamo x Paladin Des Ifs) and Niklaus Rutschi (SUI) with Fandilot D (Warrant x Grandilot).
