The Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping returns to one of North America’s most legendary equestrian venues for the third Major of the season: the CSIO Spruce Meadows ‘Masters’ Tournament. From 3–7 September 2025, the world’s elite horse-and-rider partnerships will descend on Calgary, vying for glory in the CPKC ‘International’, presented by Rolex, and the chance to become the next Rolex Grand Slam live contender. Spectators can immerse themselves in five days of thrilling show jumping drama while enjoying an array of shopping, captivating performances, and a culinary journey that celebrates local and international flavours. From heart-pounding jump-offs to unforgettable experiences across the venue, the ‘Masters’ promises a festival of sport, style, and spectacle.

This year marks Spruce Meadows’ 50th anniversary since it was founded in 1975, and celebrations will be available for guests to enjoy across all corners of the multi-purpose sport and entertainment facility. The WestJet Evening of the Horse, on Friday 5 September, promises thrilling sport and spectacular entertainment. The evening kicks off with the Tourmaline Oil Cup, giving individual athletes their final chance to qualify for Sunday’s CAD $5 million CPKC ‘International’, presented by Rolex, followed by the ATCO Electric Six Bar under the lights. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Musical Ride and a live performance by The Band of the Household Cavalry, performed to fireworks, will cap off an extraordinary and unforgettable evening.

Fans can also meet the show jumping stars at the BMO Nations’ Cup Team Autograph Signing on Friday 5 September from 12:00–12:45 in the Equi-Plex, gathering athletes from 11 nations for signatures and photos.

Visitors can step inside the Rolex Grand Slam Experience booth, an exclusive opportunity to witness the world of elite show jumping. Get a behind-the-scenes look at the sport and the prestigious series, marvel at rare memorabilia from past Majors, and meet some of this year’s star riders up close. Whether exploring the exhibition, capturing a photo with a champion, or learning about the incredible horses and their journeys, there’s something for every fan to discover. The Experience is open Wednesday 3 and Thursday 4 September from 10:00–17:00, Friday 5 September from 11:00–19:00, and Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 September from 09:00–17:00.

The world's best riders set for the 2025 Spruce Meadows 'Masters'

The Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping will return to Spruce Meadows from 3-7 September for the ‘Masters’ Tournament, one of the sport’s most iconic fixtures and the third Major of the equestrian calendar year. In 2025, the event takes on special significance, as it coincides with Spruce Meadows’ 50th anniversary, a milestone in the history of a venue that has become synonymous with world-class sport, tradition, and excellence. For five days, Calgary will welcome the very best riders and horses from around the world, culminating in the CPKC ‘International’, presented by Rolex, on Sunday 7 September.

Spruce Meadows occupies a unique place in the story of the Rolex Grand Slam. It was here in 2015 that Great Britain’s Scott Brash MBE achieved the seemingly impossible, winning consecutive Majors in Geneva, Aachen, and Calgary to become the first – and still only – winner of the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping. A decade on, Brash returns to the International Ring as one of the sport’s most decorated stars, with four Major victories to his name. For Brash, the ‘Masters’ is not only about the CPKC ‘International’, presented by Rolex – it is a place of legend. Fellow Briton and the current World No. 2 ranked rider Ben Maher will join Brash in Calgary, bringing with him a wealth of success and experience. Alongside them, rising British star Matthew Sampson, who knows the Spruce Meadows International Ring well, will look to deliver another standout performance on Canadian soil.

Interview with Martin Fuchs

Martin Fuchs - '24 + 25' Spruce Meadows 'Masters' winner and '25 CHIO Aachen

You arrive at Spruce Meadows this year as the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping Live Contender, after your brilliant win at CHIO Aachen in July with Leone Jei. How does it feel to carry that momentum – and pressure – into Calgary?

MF: “It’s a great feeling coming into Calgary as the live contender for the Rolex Grand Slam. The win at CHIO Aachen was such a special day – it’s such an incredible venue and Grand Prix, so I am very, very happy about this victory and come with lots of good feelings to Spruce Meadows – not with additional pressure, actually more a big relief and the great feeling of having won the Rolex Grand Prix in Aachen.”

You and Leone Jei have already won the CPKC ‘International’, presented by Rolex, twice in a row (2023 and 2024). What would completing the hat-trick at Spruce Meadows mean to you?

MF: “The idea to already win this incredible Grand Prix [CPKC ‘International’, presented by Rolex] twice is a fantastic achievement, so we come back this year to try and improve our jump off this year from last year, where we had a rail down, and my big goal for this year is to perform well and deliver three clear rounds in the CPKC ‘International’, presented by Rolex."

Leone Jei has been your partner for four of your five Major victories – what is it about him that makes him such a consistent performer on the biggest stages, and especially at Spruce Meadows?

MF: “Leone Jei really loves the big arenas, the big venues and the big fences! Nothing is too big or too wide or too high for him, he really enjoys the crowd and the special moments. When I am with him in these big arenas I really feel like he gives me an extra ten per cent and he really enjoys what he is doing.”
