Press release from the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping

The Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping will once again close its season in spectacular fashion at the Palexpo from 11–14 December, as CHI Geneva stages another edition of one of the sport’s most revered Majors. Marking its 64th edition, the event takes on added significance in 2025, as Rolex headlines the Rolex Grand Prix for the 25th time – a partnership that has helped elevate the Swiss Major to global prominence. Over four days of elite competition, many of the world’s top riders – including no fewer than 14 Major winners – and horses will return to Geneva’s festive indoor arena, with the show culminating in Sunday’s Rolex Grand Prix.

Since becoming part of the Rolex Grand Slam in 2013, CHI Geneva has produced some of the sport’s most unforgettable moments. Swiss stars and Rolex Testimonees Steve Guerdat and Martin Fuchs have become synonymous with the Palexpo, delivering performances that have helped to shape the event’s identity. Both return in 2025 to the arena where they achieved some of their most career-defining victories.

Guerdat – a three-time Major winner – arrives with a record that speaks for itself, and his 2013 and 2015 triumphs aboard Nino des Buissonnets remain among the most memorable in the history of CHI Geneva's Rolex Grand Prix. With back-to-back Rolex Grand Slam victories at Geneva (2019, 2021) and Spruce Meadows (2023, 2024), Fuchs arrives as one of the sport’s strongest Major contenders.

This year’s international line-up promises fierce competition. Germany fields a formidable squad: Daniel Deusser, another rider boasting three Major triumphs; Richard Vogel, winner of the 2023 Rolex Grand Prix at CHI Geneva and one of show jumping’s rising forces, Christian Ahlmann, a one-time Major winner [CHIO Aachen 2014]; alongside Sophie Hinners, Christian Kukuk, and Hans-Dieter Dreher – all capable of delivering the faultless rounds that Geneva demands.

The Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping returns to Geneva for the final Major of the calendar year, as CHI Geneva welcomes over 40,000 spectators to the Palexpo from Wednesday 10 – Sunday 14 December. Across five days, the show will once again deliver a world-class programme of elite sport, rising talent, and vibrant entertainment.

Sporting action begins on Wednesday, with three UBS-sponsored National Jumping classes at 1.15m, 1.25m, and 1.35m. Introduced in 2023, these popular classes give amateur riders the chance to compete in one of the world’s most revered indoor arenas, as they aim to qualify for Saturday’s Coupe UBS du Jockey Club, the highly anticipated three-athlete team competition.

Thursday marks the start of the international 5* competition in the Main Arena. The day features the 1.40m Prix Radio Lac, the 1.45m Prix Swiss Wine Genève, and the 1.60m Trophée de Genève – the first key pre-qualification opportunity for Sunday’s Rolex Grand Slam Major, the Rolex Grand Prix. Thursday also welcomes some of the world’s best U25 riders in the 1.40m Prix Range Rover, continuing CHI Geneva’s tradition of spotlighting the next generation of show jumping talent.

A packed Friday programme includes two CSI5* classes – the 1.45m Prix du Salève and the 1.55m Prix des Communes Genevoises, the latter offering another route into Sunday's Rolex Grand Prix. The U25 competitors return for the 1.45m Coupe Range Rover. The evening then builds to one of the week’s most anticipated events: the 24th Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final. Starting at 21:00, this 1.60m two-round showdown brings together the world’s top 10 riders – an elite contest often compared to the Nitto ATP Finals and the WTA Finals in tennis.

On Saturday, spectators can enjoy three major CSI5* classes – the 1.60m Coupe de Genève, the Prix Cheval Liberté, and the 1.55m UBS Challenge – as well as the final U25 contest of the week, the 1.45m Grand Prix Range Rover.

You’ve enjoyed a fantastic 2025 season with several standout performances – what moments or results are you most proud of, and what do you think has been the key to your strong form this year?

NM: I think 2025 has been the best year of my career. The moment I’m most proud of is my win in the Rolex Grand Prix at the Brussels Stephex Masters – it meant so much to everyone who was there with me. I was surrounded by the Rein family, my father, close friends, and so many people who have helped me reach this point. Having them all there when I won made it incredibly special. I love making the people who have done so much for me proud; working hard andperforming well is my way of saying thank you to them. I was also really happy that Dynastie won a 5* Grand Prix. She’s incredible – she learned so much this past year, and she really deserved that win. Her breeder, Éric Levallois, was there in Brussels when we won, which made it even more special. I think he was very proud of her.

This season was simply the result of the incredible team of horses and people around me. My horses are exceptional, thanks to the Rein family’s trust in me. And my team – including my trainer, Helena Stormanns, and my grooms, who are truly the best – supports me every step of the way. The Rein family are amazing; they are there for me in both the good and the difficult moments, and that means a lot. Everyone around me is always pushing me to do well, so this season is thanks to my incredible horses and the fantastic support of my whole team.

Who or what first inspired you to pursue show jumping as a career?

NM: At first, it was simply my love for horses – I just loved being around them. My father, who has always been passionate about horses, played a big part, too. When I was born, he already had a horse at home, not for sport but purely out of love for the animal. I then joined pony club, and every week I couldn’t wait to go so I could ride the ponies and horses. I’ve always adored animals.

As I started competing, something clicked. The sport, the atmosphere, and the feeling competing gave me were incredibly special. My dad supported me as much as he possibly could. Even though it wasn’t his job, he trained me until I turned 18. He spent so much time helping me, driving me to shows nearly every weekend, and backing every decision I made – we were doing everything together and he still follows me as much as he can. I am very grateful for everything he has done for me. I was also lucky to meet great people who trusted me and gave me ponies and horses to ride. Thanks to them, I had the opportunity to be part of the French teams for Children and Juniors, which opened doors to higher levels and disciplines of the sport. I competed in the European Championships for Children, Juniors, and Young Riders, and those experiences made me want to keep progressing.

Growing up, we would watch Equidia in France every Sunday to see that week’s 5* Grand Prix. Watching the world’s best riders on incredible horses felt like a dream and this inspired me so much – reaching that level is something I’ve always wanted. I idolised Pénélope Leprévost and Kevin Staut because they were French and we cheered for them, but I also admired many other great riders, like Scott Brash, Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum and Beezie Madden.
