As the 2023-edition of CHIO Aachen came to a close on Sunday evening, Switzerland's Martin Fuchs received the Prize of the Federal Minister of the Interior and Community – an award that is presented to the best placed jumping rider of the entire show.
Fuchs had a fantastic week in Aachen this year, placing third in Wednesday's Turkish Airlines-Prize of Europe with Conner Jei (Connor 48 x Cosimo), jumping double clear with Commissar Pezi (Commissario x Böckmann’s Lord Pezi) in Thursday's Mercedes-Benz Nations Cup, and placing 8th with Leone Jei (Baltic VDL x Corland) in Sunday's Rolex Grand Prix after a clear in the second round and four faults the first time out.
With a total of 37 points, Fuchs had three points separating him from Germany's Jana Wargers and four points down to Germany's Richard Vogel – the latter two dominated Friday's RWE Prize of North Rhine-Westphalia and Saturday's Allianz Prize.
