The traditional Prize of Sparkasse at CHIO Aachen, a speed and handiness competition over ditches and banks, went to Ireland's Shane Sweetnam and the 17-year-old stallion Cyklon (Cardento 933 x Cortus).
Only three riders managed to produce clear rounds in this entertaining class, with Sweetnam being the fastest when stopping the clock at 64.89 seconds. The only 19-year-old Harry Charles impressed again, taking the runner-up position on Controe (Wender R x Iroko) in 65.29 seconds. The third and last clear came from Germany's own Hans-Dieter Dreher on Tiopepe Des Champs (Ogrion Des Champs x Echo Des Forets II), in 67.09 seconds.
