The 56th edition of the Geneva International Horse Show will welcome some of the world's very best riders this week. The world's largest indoor arena will be home to nearly 110 riders and drivers from 20 nations from 8th to 11th December.

There will be no shortage of Olympic jumping medallists. Three individual Olympic champions will be present: Swiss rider Steve Guerdat (2012), Canadian rider Eric Lamaze (2008) and Dutch rider Jeroen Dubbeldam (2000). The team champions at the Rio Olympics, Kevin Staut, Pénélope Leprévost, Roger-Yves Bost, Philippe Rozier and Simon Delestre from France will all be there too. And so will Sweden's Rolf-Göran Bengtsson, silver medallist at the 2008 Games, along with American rider McLain Ward and Germany's Marcus Ehning, team gold medallists in 2004 and 2000 respectively. The winner of the last Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final, American rider Kent Farrington, will be defending his title while world Nº1, German rider Christian Ahlmann, will be hoping to prove worthy of his title. Last but not least, Britain's Scott Brash, the sole rider in history to have won the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping, will be one to watch closely. Winning the Grand Prix of Calgary, a Grand Slam round, has put him in the running for another.
