Germany’s Daniel Deusser and the 13-year-old mare Jasmien vd Bisschop (Larino x Chin Chin) won Saturday night’s CSI5*-W 1.50m presented by Estrella Damm at Madrid Horse Week 2022 in Spain.

The best twelve horse-and-rider combinations from the first round moved on to the winning round in this class counting for the Longines Ranking, where Deusser was the quickest when crossing the finish line in 33.26. Austria’s Max Kühner and the 9-year-old EIC Cooley Jump the Q (Pacino x Obos Quality 004) had to settle for the runner-up position with a time of 34.05, while Brazil’s Eduardo Pereira de Menezes and the 13-year-old H5 Elvaro (Calvaro FC x Heartbreaker) placed third when the clock stopped on 34.51 for the Brazilian. France’s Simon Delestre and Dexter Fontenis Z (Diarado x Voltaire) took the fourth place, while the fifth spot went to Germany’s Philipp Weishaupt and Che Fantastica (Check In 2 x Pablo). 

Earlier in the day, Denmark's Andreas Schou took the top honours in the 1.45m presented by Marques de Vargas – also a competition counting for the Longines Ranking. Riding the 8-year.old Macarena (Monte Bellini x Saccor), Schou left Aurelien Leroy and Croqsel de Blaignac (Ugano Sitte x Rubynea) behind him in second place with 0.67 separating the two riders. Dutch veteran Eric van der Vleuten took the third place with Icarronne-S (Carrera VDL x Lord Z).
